Zabelle Shooshan Harutunian of West Hartford died Saturday, December 23, 2017 surrounded by family. She was born in Worcester, MA on May 9th, 1922. She graduated with high honors from the High School of Commerce in Worcester, MA and attended the Worcester branch of Northeastern University. She was predeceased by her husband, George Harutunian, her parents, Nuritza and Charles Shooshan and her brothers Harold, Alexander and Charles Shooshan. She was a member of the Woman’s Guild of St. George Armenian Church and past President of The Daughters of Vartan. She is survived by her sons Harry Harutunian, Mark and his wife Rosanne Harutunian, and David Harutunian; grandsons and their wives, Kevin and Annie Harutunian and Captain Brian and Jamie Harutunian; granddaughter Leah Harutunian, great granddaughter Hannah Harutunian; sister-in-law Betty Shooshan; and nieces and nephews. She was employed by Hartford Gage Co. as secretary, bookkeeper before her retirement. She was an avid UCONN Husky basketball fan and enjoyed and traveled extensively. Her family and grandchildren meant everything to her besides her church.
