Anahid Krikor Firkatian, 92, of West Hartford, passed away on May 11, 2026 at Brookdale in West Hartford.

Anahid was born in Burgas, Bulgaria. She was the child of Genocide survivors: Iskouhi Bedonian Yahanajian and Krikor Bedonian. She was an active member of the Armenian Relief Society and the local chapter’s treasurer for many years. Anahid enjoyed hiking and biking and was proud to have hiked the highest of the peaks in the United States – Mt. Whitney. Her passion for hiking brought her to Nepal where she trekked the Annapurna Preserve for 18 days.

Although she did not identify herself as a chef, she prepared dinner every night for her daughter and granddaughter for the 12 years they lived together. She was a generous and hardworking woman who always put her family’s needs before her own. She was proud to be Armenian and always worked to ensure that the community and future generations were taken care of.
