Obituary: Grace Alice Kalagian

Grace Alice Kalagian passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2024, in the company of her children. Grace was born on December 14, 1930, in Camden, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Armenag and Noveme Esgejian, and the sister of Albert. Grace married the love of her life, Menas “Dick” Kalagian, on May 3, 1958, in Springfield, Massachusetts. Together, they moved to Manchester where they started their family and lived out the rest of their days. Grace was actively involved with St. George Armenian Church in Hartford, where she was a Sunday School teacher and member of the Women’s Guild. Grace was known by all as a great cook and wonderful hostess. She loved to invite people into her home and welcome them like family. She is predeceased by her brother and her husband. Grace is survived by her children Gregory Kalagian of Manchester and Melanie Demircan and her husband Armand of Glastonbury. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Alexander and Alexis.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, at St. George Armenian Church (22 White Street, Hartford, Connecticut). Burial will follow at East Cemetery in Manchester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. George Armenian Church.
