Chess Club

Our classes will start on February 19 and will meet weekly on Mondays at 6pm. This program is open to the children of our church or neighborhood communities.

The chess club at our church is more than just a place for kids to learn a classic game; it’s a nurturing ground for developing critical life skills. Through the intricate and thought-provoking game of chess, children are exposed to the vital concepts of strategic planning and critical thinking. Each session is an opportunity for them to engage in mental gymnastics, where they learn to think several moves ahead, understand the consequences of their actions, and adapt strategies based on changing situations. This not only enhances their ability to make smart decisions on the chessboard but also equips them with analytical skills applicable in real-world scenarios. The club aims to cultivate a generation of young thinkers who can approach challenges with patience, creativity, and a strategic mindset. Ultimately, our goal is to empower these young minds, helping them to realize that, like in chess, life’s challenges can be met with intelligence, foresight, and careful planning.
