Description

Davit is made from 100% old vine Areni from the Vayots Dzor. The grapes are fermented in concrete tanks and the wine is aged in Armenian Oak barrels.

Bright Areni fruit jumps out of the glass of this first vintage of Davit. The cherry flavors are joined by more red berry fruit on the palate. Very little oak is noticeable, but chocolate and dried fruit emerge and add complexity to this easy drinking wine.

This wine won a Gold Medal at the 2020 Mundus Vini International wine competition in Germany.

In this first vintage, using the same plot of old vines, winemaker Federico Renzi has made two very different wines, each showing the greatness of the Areni grape!
